The Ohio EdChoice (OEC) Scholarship is a state-funded school choice option that assists families with the cost of private education. Every Ohio K-12 student in the State of Ohio is eligible for an OEC Scholarship.
To participate in any scholarship program offered through FCA, parents and students should first apply for admission. Once the student has been accepted for enrollment, and the state issues the school’s initial charter, families submit a scholarship application for the student through the secure online application system.
EdChoice Expansion Scholarship
The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship amount is determined by a family’s income level and household size.
Every family is eligible for at least a minimum scholarship, regardless of income.
For the 2025-2026 school year: Students must be five years old or older as of 1/1/2026 for eligibility.
If a family’s household income is at or below 450% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), they will be awarded the maximum scholarship amount of $6,166.
If a family’s household income is at or below 200% FPL, you will qualify for low-income status. Families with low-income status will receive the maximum EdChoice award per student ($6,166) and will not be billed any balance of tuition.

EdChoice Traditional Scholarship
EdChoice Traditional scholarships are for students assigned to a public school district considered to be underperforming based on state requirements.
To determine if your local public school qualifies, use the third tab of this Reports Portal to determine by county, if your residence and corresponding local public school district qualify for the EdChoice Traditional Scholarship.
The Traditional EdChoice Scholarship is $6,166.

Cleveland Scholarship
The Cleveland Scholarship is for families residing in Cleveland. More information can be found here
Fees are not covered by EdChoice Scholarships. All families, regardless of income, are responsible to pay school-based fees (such as, but not limited to, enrollment/re-enrollment and curriculum fees) for each student, each year.
